Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get my board in the queue?

Everything is first come, first served and no appointment is necessary. We are open Monday - Friday 10am-4:30pm. A board must physically be in the shop to hold it’s spot.

If you’re visiting the island please call to discuss your options.

What can I do before arriving with my board?

  • Remove fins and leash if can

  • Rinse or wipe down (boards caked with dirt we will not inventoried)

  • No need to remove wax

What if I call and you don’t answer?

Our shop is very noisy and sometimes don’t hear our phone ring. Please leave a voicemail and a message as brief as possible. Your name and the reason for your call - Pick up, drop off, estimate or checking the status of your board currently inventoried.

You may also send a txt message and we’ll respond as soon as possible. Please know we do not check messages outside of our normal business hours.

What is your turn around time?

The severity of the ding and the materials involved will determine the length of time for the repair to be completed. Due to the minimal amount of ding repair shops available on the island, turn around times may take longer than usual. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we always strive to provide quality ding repair.

Please know - there are many factors that can effect our turn around times such as personal illness, travel, weather and volume of inventory.

What we work on…

Surfboards, SUP’s, foil boards, kiteboards and windsurfing boards. We do not work on OC1, canoes, kayaks or actual foil masts.

We work with Polyester and Epoxy resins, fiberglass and carbon. We color match repairs to the best of our abilities, but please know we are a repair shop, not a restoration shop.

How do I get an estimate?

All estimates must be done in person in order to see the severity of the ding and know what materials will be needed to complete the repair. You’re more than welcomed to call to get a “rough estimate”, but know an estimate can always change based on our findings.

We do not accept photos via txt or instagram requesting an estimate.

Are their any types of repairs you don’t do?

Buckles, broken in half boards and old beaters from under a house are not always deemed as “dead boards.” We’ll happily look them over for you and give you all your options so you can make the best decision.

Auntie K’s thrives on customer relationship and honesty. We want to feel good about the work we provide and if we do not see that is possible with your board, we may kind-fully decline.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We are a cash or check only business. No Venmo, PayPal or Zelle. Please make checks payable to Auntie K’s LLC. No deposit is required upon arrival to inventory your board, but you may put anything towards your balance ahead of time if you choose to. Tips are not expected, but always appreciated especially in the form of fresh fruits, local honey and fish!

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone whose expectations we may not meet, if a project is deemed un-repairable or if Auntie K’s shop policy is not respected.
